About Me
<aside> 📎 Rebecca Galbraith, a multi-disciplinary photography & music artist at Oberlin College, majoring in music and mathematics. Her journey began with the soothing and expansive qualities of ambient music, but she has since ventured into the world of pop/techno music and DJing. Becca’s unique blend of these genres creates a sound that is both introspective and accessible, a testament to her creativity and versatility.
Becca’s music reflects her influences, which include artists like Frank Ocean, Brian Eno, SOPHIE, and André 3000. Her music takes listeners on a journey through lush soundscapes and catchy melodies, often infused with calm and contemplation. This style, heavily influenced by the vibrant sounds of 2000s pop combined with modern electronic elements, is a unique blend that sets Becca’s music apart.
As a photographer, Becca focuses on capturing the mood and atmosphere of everyday moments, often drawing parallels between visual and auditory experiences. Becca’s photography has been featured in student exhibitions, where the interplay between sound and image is a recurring theme.
Looking ahead, Becca is currently focused on expanding her portfolio and eagerly experimenting with new forms of media. After graduation, she is determined to pursue a career in music production/audio engineering. When she’s not in the studio, Becca enjoys spending time with friends, walking, reading a good book, exploring the area around her, or experimenting with new sounds in her home studio.
